Our mission is to train and empower doulas, making the certification process as clear and meaningful as possible so that you can earn your certification, and begin impacting lives.
BDI is dedicated to train and certify eligible doulas with excellence through a hands-on interactive approach. Because at BDI, we believe that no mother should labor alone.
Our Story
Giving birth is a miraculous, life-changing moment, but for a laboring mother, it could also be isolating, frightening and overwhelming.
The role of a doula is to provide physical and emotional support while being able to inform and empower the mother.
The quick spread of COVID-19, and the resulting hospital restrictions, made it impossible for some mothers to be accompanied by their doula as they gave birth. New hospital regulations require all doulas to have certification to be present at the birth.
Birth Doulas International (BDI) began in the wake of these stressful times, to provide new doulas, and already experienced doulas, with the certification necessary for them to be able to meet the hospital standards.
